 Today, we took notes on argumentative essay. We talk the three things that are needed in an argument: logos, pathos, and ethos. Logos is the logical reason, fact, or truth. Pathos are emotions and feelings in a argument. Ethos is credibility and ethics. After that, we did three examples of logos, pathos, and ethos. One of the examples was “You are trying to convince your peers that smoking is bad.”

 Here are the notes we took while reading the play “Fences”. My handwriting is a bit small but it is all because I don’t know that we have to write all of the things on the board. Also, one the front of the paper, you will see three little doodles on the side.

Today, we continue reading the play “Fences” for scene 1. After that, we answered a few questions for the first scene and took notes. We talked about words being used negatively, neutrally, and positively.

  Today, we continue working on our one-pagers. Now, some of us are now writing down the quotes, vocabulary, and questions and answers. However, there are some of us who are now getting started on the work.

    Today, we started working on our one pagers. We have to draw a scene from the story “The Rockpile”, write down four quotes as a border, write down six or more vocabulary words from the story, and write the questions and answers. We need to make our one-pagers colorful. And each and every one of us have to be creative with this assignment.

 One specific way in which a veteran’s past experiences might affect his or her present life could be their mental health. The reason behind it is because they took a life from someone else.

 Today in class, we did the rest of the benchmark. We have to answer question number 20. In number 20, we have to write 3 to more paragraphs since it was a extended constructive response. The problem that I had with the benchmark is starting a paragraph or essay. However, during the rest of the semester, I believe that I will do it with no problem.

 Today, we took the benchmark for American lit. In the test, there are 17 multiple choice questions and 3 constructive responses. One of the constructive responses needs to be 2 through 3 paragraphs long. We only have to do numbers 1 through 19. We have to do number 20 tomorrow. 

    Today, we watched two trailers for a sitcom and drama that talk about Emily Dickinson. After that, we worked on the quote sheet that Mr. Rease gave us. On the sheet, we have to analyze the quotes that are written by Emily Dickinson. We have to find the meaning and the theme for that quote.
